In a heartbreaking incident in Hazaribagh, a Class VII student lost his life after being crushed by a truck while on his way to school. The victim, identified as 13-year-old Deepak Kumar, was fatally injured just 500 meters away from the Keredari police station. The incident occurred around 7 am on the Barkagaon-Hazaribagh main road. Deepak, who was on his bicycle delivering milk before school, was hit by a truck from behind, leading to his immediate death.

The tragedy sparked immediate chaos as family members and locals gathered at the scene, blocking the Keredari-Barkagaon road for nine hours. Demanding compensation, jobs, and stricter implementation of traffic rules, the protesters lifted the roadblock only after receiving assurances from NTPC. The company pledged Rs 1 lakh in cash assistance and committed to providing employment to a member of the victim's family.
